Got mine in 98 with 32k on the odometer. The car was owned by a serviceman's daughter from a GM dealership, so it was maintained. I used Mobil 1 synthetic since i have been changing the oil. I have 95k on the car now and it runs better than it ever has today. I think changing the oil on time is a key factor in how long the motor lasts.

I have changed the opti when it wasnt the opti that went bad.

Changed the coil.

Been through 1 major transmission part for 5-6 gear. (the tranny guy said he had not ever seen that kinda break on a that part considering i was stock at the time)

1 water pump gone bad.

Thats it really besides maintaining.

Gotcha, well don't wanna rain on your parade, but if the WRX is working as a daily, then why not just cruise around in that till you find the M6 that you "really want"? Just a suggestion, I know that no matter what, I could never, ever settle for an Auto if I'm looking for a Manual. Just some food for thought, but good luck regardless

No offense Jon, but it seems you go thru this "I want an LS1 no, wait...I want an LT1, no I mean an LS1" stuff every six months. I think you should just learn to be a little patient and save up for the LS1. That is what you want truely. Your a young guy and have alot of time a head of you. Just save up for a few more months and get you what you really want

I completely agree with the others...Why in the world would you buy an A4 if you truly want an M6? Buying on impulse has never worked out for me personally. Same thing with the LT1 or LS1 thing. You've already had an LT1 and have said repeatedly you want an LS1. If you just want an F-body, get whichever is more practical for you. But if you truly want the LS1, then wait!

BTW, there are TONS of descent 6-speed LT1's for 6 grand or less that I'm sure you could fine at least one to your liking. So don't settle for an auto...

You're right about waiting it out for a T56 car, but the LS1 I can't do anything about. They'd be more expensive to insure and more expensive to buy, and I don't have much money to play around with. Plus, it's not like I must have an LS1, I've had experience with the LT1 and while I'd prefer an LS1, an LT1 is by no means a poorer selection to me. I've loved LT1 Camaros ever since I was a kid.

Been looking around and haven't found one T56 car around here with the parameters I'm trying to get at (<75k miles, <$5000). I have found two A4s though.

Thanks for the words everybody

That's one of my favorite LT1 colors, looks pretty clean too (except for the corny banner).

It's about 3 hours away from me unfortunately, which is a little bit far. I wish I could find a car closer, but if I can't find any other it might be worth me checking out.

Any way for you to get to it for a test drive??? I think it looks pretty nice. Pictures can be very deceptive though. With all that stuff replaced less than 2k miles ago... if it was all quality work and the car runs nice, it seems pretty good to me.

3 hours away? That's nothing man Well, I don't think it is. For the right car, distance doesn't have a huge impact, then again, I'm probably different than others. Take a saturday and head down there if you've got nothing else to do, what area?

Somewhere in Maryland, but I'm all the way up in North Jersey 20 mins outside Manhattan. The problem is that finals are coming up, and I've been swamped with papers and studying lately. Aside from that, we've been ahving crazy thunderstorms up here in NJ and my place of work was completely destroyed by flooding , so I've been putting in twice as many hours as usual trying to get everything rebuilt (it's a privately owned business)... so, either way, I'm going to have to wait until around mid-May to check out a car that's more than 30 mins-an hour away.

But yeah, it does look like a good deal. I hope it's still around by the time I get done with finals.
