Wow, with all that stuff recently done (and that is a lot of important stuff for the LT1 
), that seems like a very good deal assuming the car is in good all-around shape and runs solidly...
Are you absolutely sure you can't take off a Saturday to go make the 3 hour trip over there with a buddy or family member? By the time you're done checking it over, that is only going to be like 7-8 hours total round trip. Just get up early and be back by mid-late afternoon.
Anyways, I bet that guy would let it go for 6 grand (or at least 6.5) if you're serious enough about buying it off him...
I say find a way to go check it out because it might not be there next month...
