Nitrous- Cheap Hp and cost effective.
Stall converter- turns an auto into a serious 60ft car.

4.10 gear. You think your LT1 has lots of low end grunt? Wait till you put a gear in it, every stoplight you will end leaving black smokey patches on the ground.

Ive thought about doin 4.10's.. but a motorcycle is the next thing on my list to buy... and I have an auto in my car... I hear 4.10s are the best in the 6 speeds but 3.73s in the autos

I havent read all the other post but my most cost effective mod was Skinneys. I picked up 2 full tenths and almost 3 MPH with the skinneys alone( Same rears). I ran 1 weekend and 2 weekends later without even popooing the hood and skinneys I ran that much beter

Headers and true duals because God intended for a SBC to have duals!!
to true, very accurate statement.

My cutout.

Because it's the only thing I've done

Plan on helping it out with some LT headers(or at least Mac mids).

Long tubes, 3 inch x pipe and bullets made the Lt1 sound how it should. Then a nasty lopey cam was next on the list

Has anyone heard of or know anybody who has Stroked an LT1? I'm a NEWBIE here and to the Domestic World - I was an IMPORTER! Anyways I've seen the light and I was going to START by stroking the engine! I haven't found anyone mention that yet at all. Probably just me ...

Glad you've seen the light. A stroked LT1 is rather common, there are 383, 385, 396 just to name a few and I think I've heard of a 427.

Any idea what kind of increase I should expect with the 383 Stroker Kit? I was told about 400HP and 11's in the 1/4 mile. After reading various upgrades and times from members- I think that is a little exaggerated!

a engine builder i know builds sbc's all the time and builds strokers all the time, how much diff is a lt1 from a old school sbc?

do i need a certainc rank or can a old school 400 crank be used?

cause he does short blocks for around 800 bucks

I think my favorite was the fact that I bought the thing bone stock, unmolested. Now it's a loud beast, running some fast times..
One of the favorites would have to be the LS1 Big Brakes. Them things cost me $150, and have saved my *** more than enough times.
