Newbie Mistakes
Bafoon?..I have 5 ASE's and have pissed more automotive knowledge than you posess.
I am not talking about your very few little experiences. I have seen hundreds if not more alternators go out the door and I have seen damn near as many Delcos come back garbage. Especially their CS series. I had 5 of them sitting on my shelf that were garbage.
Now run along and go try to impress someone else with your thimble full of experience and knowledge.

1) Putting a bunch of money into a car ill prob never finish. (My 90 RS)
2) Going to a different tint shop I didnt know well and they scratch my hatch glass.
3) Using the power bleeder on the clutch res and leaking fluid all down into the wheel well. Got it cleaned up but it was stupid not to clamp the hose better first.
4) Just a bunch of little things I do sometimes when I alrdy know better but get in a rush...Always take your time do not try to do things with little time it will only make things go wrong.
5) Left my radar detector hanging and it fell and put a small dent in my perfect dash
maybe I can fix it.6) Try to torque everything to specs that you can.
7) Buying a black car
8) Try not to drop bolts under the hood cause they mysteriously disappear.
9) Spending all my money on my car
10) Always use a flare wrench on lines

hmm let me see, a previous newbie mistake, getting my 1989 rs camaro painted and forgetting to tell them to paint the t-top area as well
putting a glass pack with no cat on a 2.8 v6 under the passenger seat area! haha back in those days. Thats was a big no no
Drilling out the back seat brackets in my 89rs, goodness that was dumb
Getting a t-top car 89rs
i think ive learned from a lot of my mistakes with a good amount of cars, but im sure there may be more to come.
my 02 ss, HARDTOP you can tell i learned my lesson with t-tops. I waited for months to find the ss I wanted.. extremely happy with my choice.
lawl
btw, t-tops are the ****. i love them
buying 918 springs
and yeah, you guessed it! 1.) not on my car, but my friends Blazer... he wanted to install subs in it with the stock cd player... and i am used to having an accessory wire to work with to power the remote... do more research on this because 12v power wont power the remote, and the job that should have taken me about 2 hours tops without a voltmeter (which is a must in stereo work) turned into about a 7 hour job and asking many people where to run remote power...
2.) BRAKES.... make sure you work one side at a time and use the other side for reference if you get stuck.... pulling off both calipers and pulling the pads out of both side without paying attention makes for a fun time if you dont know what you are doing really...
3.) make sure when buying a car that the owner doesnt say.... "well i was told its the alternator squealing..." because that could be a lot more than just an alternator... basically, look the car over and KNOW what is wrong with the car if something is known to be wrong... don't accept what their friends say they think it is... get it checked out and take your time...
4.) dont be afraid to work on your car... with a set of sockets and wrenches, almost anything can be done on these cars... and, if you dont have the proper tools, auto zone rents tools every day and gives refunds when you bring them back... saves big bucks in the long run... and just because "OH THESE CARS ARE ALL RAN BY ELECTRICAL STUFF!" is all you hear by the tards that dont own these cars, they are still held together by the same bolts that have been used for hundreds of years...
5.) a Haynes or Chiltons manual is a god for the people that are beginning to work on their cars... just looking through the book when you are bored gives you ideas of how stuff works in the car and why it is there if you dont really understand it yet...
6.) the most important step... dont buy a ford

Or trying to figure out what going on with your transmission while it's on the ground and making yourself a new birthmark on your arm from the 5-million degree exhaust pipe you weren't paying attention to...
