Post Symptoms of bad O2 sensors?

I'm trying to see if one of my O2 sensors is bad. My car has a OBD1 ECU so I'm not sure if it will throw an SES light if one of my O2's is bad. My car has been running real rich and blows black smoke out the exhaust (more than normal) every now and then under WOT conditions. Is their anyway to check for a bad O2 sensor?

Thanks

Best way to check the o2's is with a scanner. You can artificially lean or richen the mixture by opening a vacuum leak or introducing propane to the throttle body and see if the O2 sensor responds.......or if you know that your mix is too rich, and the O2 is showing lean (.45 volts or below) than it is probably bad.....

DOes the smoke only occur at WOT? If so, its probably NOT your O2 sensor.....

Will a scan master be able to detect O2 sensor voltage?
