96 TA cats and O2 sensors?
Does a 1996 Trans am have two cats or one and do they have the o2 connections after the cats or before? I am looking to buy one and wandering if I can take the cats off with out an o2 sim.

allright thankx for the info guys. The car a I am looking at has SLP shorties and i believe the dual dual system. Would this setup sound good with the cats removed or should I just leave the cats alone and buy the loudmouth system?

Removing the cats will give you minimal gains in power if any, but if you are looking for sound that's where it's at. In my opinion, get the loudmouth on there before you remove the cats and see if it's loud enough for you. It would suck to remove them and find it to be too loud and not emmissions legal (depending on your location). Yes, there are 2 02 sensors before and 2 after. The rears can be bypassed with 02 sims or deleted through LT1 edit if you do an OBD1 computer conversion or find a shop that can tune a 96.
