Default TB problem

I just put on the new BBK 52 mm TB today and now it doesn't close all the way when I left off the gas. I can close it all the way if I get under the hood and close it by hand. I'm sure it's the "goop" they put on the blades that it's binding on and they say not to remove that so does anybody know how to fix this other than putting a stronger return spring on it somewhere???

Honestly this is exactly why most people who go with a 52mm go with a rebored stocker, none of these or the whistling issues. Since you said it is a new TB I would call and complain they just might send another one out for you to try.

I'm sure this "goop" on the blades is to help seal it up. I might try taking some of it off and if I don't have any idling issues then I'll be fine, or I might just hook up another spring for a quick fix. It's not bad but it aint right, I logged some data today and saw the TPS would either be at .8% or 1.2% at idle, that's how I knew something was up. I wonder if just a lil dab of grease around the blades would do the trick?? I'll try that first.

I had problems with my BBK 52mm on my Z28 sticking at times at around 2500-3000 RPM at stoplights. Pain in the *** that was, but I never had a problem with it sticking constantly, it was once every few months that it would happen.

Mine has an allen screw under the stopper that I had to turn to get it to close all the way. You may want to look into that.

Mine wont come back against the stop screw all the way unless I pull it back by hand. I'm gonna try the grease first and then put a spring on it if that doesn't work.

'Splain this, with the car not running it closes up against the stop screw just fine, with the car running it will not close all the way unless I do it by hand, it likes about 1/16 inch from closing all the way and the car idles up too high. It's like it's being sucked open, what the hell??

I've only ever heard of the BBK 52mm having problems. I've experienced some as well as many others, I wouldn't suggest them to anybody.
