Default Will A LS1 Injector fit a LT1?

This is the deal folks, I bought some 28.8lbs fuel injectors that came off a LS1 because I was told that they would work on a LT1, But I notice two (2x) things. First I notice that the LS1 Injectors are a tiny bit shorter than the LT1 Injectors and second I can't use the lock on tabs to secure them on to the Lt1 Fuel rails . So basically I would like to know will they still work and will they leak fuel if I use them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

hey was up/ They will work fine........... I have some 36lb. and i dont use the locks beacuse i lost them. Either way they seal perfectly as long as the injector tip gose far into the intake when you install them...... Do you know the right way to install them??? Most pepole make the injector fit tight on the fuel rail then tight them down, that dosent work, they end up leaking.....

Why would you want to put 28.8lb injector?

Lightbulb LS1 injectors possibly cheaper?

getting a set LS1 28.8 injectors is prolly cheaper (from a junkyard, ebay or from the boards) than getting a new set of Brand Name 30#'ers .... the new 30# injectors prolly go for $200-300 whereas the LS1's might be cheaper....

just a thought

Bet you really kick yourself in the rear when you put them in and find out they are 28lbs. at the LS1s higher fuel pressure and in the LT1 with stock fuel pressure they are about the same as your stock 24lbs.. Just to make it perfectly clear since this is a hard concept for some to grasp(see camaroz28.com for recent threads) an LS1 28lbs injector run at the LT1s fuel pressure is a 24lbs injector and is in no way or form an upgrade, not to mention for any injector swap the pcm should be retuned even if it is just another brand of the same size.

No, the stock injectors lock closed if overpressurized and are not overly pressure tolerant. The right thing to do would be to get new injectors of the right rating, and tuning for them. The SVOs are a good choice and about $230 a set an adjustable regulator will screw up your tune and cost what over $100 and be a halfassed bandaid. They do have uses but on mild setup like this(meaning this low an injector size) is not one of them.

Well everybody thanks for the info, all good advice. I only went with the 28.8 lbs injectors because I install a cc305 cam with dual lifter springs,52mm Throttle body, headers and no smog or egr stuff, and a new chip from pcmforless. I figured it couldn't hurt after I was told that they would make a good difference. Again thanks for your support guys.

Stock injectors are more than enough to handle a mild setup like yours.

AGAIN seems we have the same problem here as on the other forum. When you put those injectors on an LT1 with the stock regulator they become 24lbs they were not an upgrade in size. Injectors are rated at the expected pressure they will be run at the LS1 uses higher pressure than the LT1 so if you test your stock injector at that higher pressure you get the 28lbs. number too.

i have a friend that makes 420rwhp with stock 24lb/hr injector on his LT1, they seem to work fine so far, sep for some minor flat spot's on the cam. Try installing a fuel pressure gage and watch the pressure, maybe you'll be able to adjust the regulator.

(you'll need to get returned for the cam, but the injectors should be fine if you stick with 24lb/hr injector.)

What difference is he going to notice, injectors do not control fueling or make power really all you need of an injector is adequate flow and to be able to program the pcm for them. If you think injectors are going to make power you have spent too much time reading magazines and catalogs and have to begin to learn how the system works.

what the heck is going on here. !!! I ALMOST DIED LAUGHING SO HARD !!

Those injectors are going to be smaller than your stock ones. NOT BIGGER
Like mentioned above, The ls1 runs at a higher fuel presure. Our lt1s run alot lower.

Also you will not need new ones for what your trying to do, My stock injectors worked fine even when i was supercharging my car when i first started.

One more time... THE STOCK INJECTORS WILL BE GOOD FOR AT LEAST 425HP AT THE REAR WHEELS !!!

Read up on this stuff bro before you go wasting money. If you add new injectors your gonna need a tune. And a email tune is not going to get it where you need it.
