Default 1993 camaro M6, can i tune it?

So i have finally learned my car does not have flash memory. I have an ALDL connector going into the Diag port of the car, ive been running programs like datamaster, but the truth of it all is i have no clue what i am looking for/ at. The car is running a little rough, it sounds like a timing issue to me. (will the old skool timing light help me here? i dont even want to think about adjusting the optispark manually- unless it can be done ? I was wondering can i Use LT1 Edit on my car, and if so where can i buy/ download it. Can i cange any settings on the car since it is chipped? Can i do anything with this ALDL cable /laptop other than monitor my RPMs... Thanks

yes the '93 cars use the old style Chips. and you can get new chips for them

the Opti dosent get adjusted. the computer fires it advanced and or retarded

edit: PCMforless.com can burn chips for you.

PCMforless is well known for their capability on the 93 cars.

LT1-Edit won't work on the 93's but Tunercat will. You would need the $DA3 version of Tunercat along with a chip burner like the PocketProgrammerII, and chips of course.

www.speeddensity.org is your friend too. Lots of 93 guys there.
