Default The SB2 lives...

It runs. Broke it in today. Should be making the big pulls tomorrow or Friday. It sounds awesome.







Here's a short video of it running. I didn't set the camera up long since we weren't going to make any pulls so this is it for now.

Right click and save as (About 7 meg)

Dyno break in

I'll post here with results as they come in.

Wow! That exhaust looks like a nest of anacondas ! Can't wait to see what she does at the track.

Preliminary numbers are in. On a soft tune it made 705hp @ 7300 and 520lb/ft @ 5200 That's with 20/50W oil and 116 race gas. Vacuum pump was pulling a little under 9". There's probably 30-40 left on the table as it sits. Merge collectors would increase that by a good amount. I may experiment with them. Right now it has straight 4" collectors. We are going to save the final tune for the chassis syno.

To say that I'm happy is an understatement. The motor made 400lb/ft @ 3000 and made peak torque @ 5200 but it carried that number all the way to 7300. That's unheard of. My engine guy said it's the flatest tq curve he's ever seen.

It should be good for 9.90's on the motor and then there's that 300 hit of spray

the peak numbers are not overly outstanding, but I think that your power band is going to basicly make your whole combo. There are plenty of people running 800-850 and think it's great but they just can't carry the power. I actualy think with the correct exhaust set up you could easily be pushing 740, and with a good tune 750 and then go from there.

Thanks for the input and I agree. I think the smallish bore is holding it back quite a bit. It's only a 4.035" bore and the ones making the 800+ I've seen have 4.125"+ bores. The fact that the heads were down 30cfm when flowed on the smaller bore supports that. Overall I'm happy, if it's optimized I think 750 or a little more is there. Plus the cam is a nitrous cam.
