Easy, LS1s were engineered to be a quieter, more refined engine. LT1/SBCs are much louder as a result.

Love my Hooker, the only thing i don't like about them is the tips. But sound is nice. I have stock everything but the cat back so its more mild i guess.

Damn Brawls we have almost the same setup. 94 formula hooker catback cai, 18's, but i have 3.23's.

Hooker is the best catback by far. Stay away from the Loudmouth if you removed your cats and have long tubes. It seems the more flow your exhaust has the raspier adn trashier the loudmouth gets. A loudmouth with a sweet thunder muffler used as a a resonator, thats a different story.

I think the only reason the loudmouth gets a bad name is because it can sound weird on some LS1s. I don't think LT1s have the same problem.

Don't think that is the case. I think LT1s are 10.4:1 and LS1s are 10.8:1.

Good info. I still think the biggest factor is the overall design of the engine. One of GMs goals with the LS1 was to reduce engine and exhaust noise.

I currently have a flowmaster catback and think it sound great inside but not so great on the outside because the muffler sounds like its clicking when u accelerate. Anyone know what I mean? Im putting my LT's and off road Y pipe on soon so you think I will be pleased??? Im thinking of putting either a magnaflow, hooker, or gmmg catback on cause i want the loudest/nastiness/deepest/muscle car like catback. Since Im 17 the gmmg is hard for me to afford but I think I will go with that. any suggestions??

I'm suprised I haven't seen anyone mention the set up I have in my sig for my TA.
I have seen quite a few talk about the B&B triflow I have on the more local forums.I haven't heard a complaint yet. It sounds nice and loud with never any popping. I have seen it more on vettes though.
