Default COMP "R" LIFTERS

I was wondering what most people were running as far as preload for the comp r lifters. Thanks for any info.

0 lash and then a 1/4 turn

Comp claims 0 lash - 1/8 turn is where it should be set.

Seeing how 1/8 turn should do it would 1/4 turn be over kill or just added assurance. Or would the 1/4 turn cause the valve to stay open?

my mistake, i meant 1/8, whoops lol. I did a 1/4 my first time and they were too tight, 1/8th was the proper number. sorry.

1/16 is halfway between 0 and 1/8 , so yeah its good.

Alot of guys run as close to zero lash as possible.

Get the pushrod so it will barely move, then tighten just enough so it is snug.

ruh-roh, i been running 3/16 of a turn
maybe that, not having an alternator, and a vacuume leak as im thinking back, is why im running shitty past 5,500

I hear nothing but bad news about the Comp "R's". Hard to adjust the lash as well as them coming loose. I dont know anything about them but hearing that soo often id be scared to run em. Maybe people just dont know what they are doing? lol I keep hearing the way to go is the Comp or Crane OE replacements.
