Unhappy hesitation, misfire & backfiring

I'm new to the 4th gens, just bought a 94 z28 4 weeks ago with 77000 miles. Intake elbow was wore out replaced with trick flow, other than that the car is stock as far as I know.

I have noticed a slight hesitation at easy take offs, and at wot it takes off then starts to bog down and starts poping, like its back firing. I am going to try and change the plugs and wires to see if that helps. Does this sound like a good place to start. Where else should I look

Any info. HELP THE NEWBY THANKS

thanks guys, I thought I might be on the right track. I also noticed that it seems to bounce off the rev limiter a few times, I think from 3rd to 4th gear then it shifts. Could this be the clutch packs slipping. It has an A4 tranny.
