A cold air"ram air" kit would be a signifigantly better idea and even those are incapable of providing any positive pressure at anything near sane speeds. I hate to start another debate but ram air is a myth in street cars and in race cars the aero drawback outweights the power gain. Ramair certainly can be useful in street cars but that is due to the cold unrestricted airflow they offer the engine. Now stick you hand out the window once while driving feel how much air is rushing by even your room fan in the hopuse can't touch that volume of air and that amount can't add power so how can a small fan even begin to help a V8.

I have heard of a true electric supercharger but it was for SMALL cars with like 4 cylinder engines and did place a big load on the charging and battery systems, when something like that is not running though it is a restriction and it takes too much power to run continuous like a mechanical one does. On Smokemup.com someone recently took his car for a testdrive with the blower installed but not plumbed and even not producing boost but still spinning it he was amazed at the power it took away from the car. Again it takes massive amounts of energy to move enough air and pressurize it enough to make a power difference. If you think forcing air into a motor is going to help economy you don't understand gas engines, more air means it will need to burn more fuel if anything and the injection will insure it does so.
