Default !AIR !EGR delete questions

hello everyone,
i have a 94 Z28. i keep seeing people that have !AIR and !EGR as modifications. im am curious as if this is meaning a deleted egr system maybe? i dont know what the air system or circuit is, maybe vacuum or something? someone please fill me in on what these modifications do exactly and if there is any performance gain and if so how much. what are the pros/cons you know, im sure yall have been asked this a thousand times already.

Zero performance gain other then small weight savings

i only deleted mine because the headers i got had the fittings welded over.

it's not something i'd consider doing just because or especially if you have to worry about emissions. if i ever get another set of headers i'll probably put everything back on.

i definately dont have to worry about emissions, and in NC where i live, after this coming January 1st, nobody with 95 and down has to. they are doing away with the smell test when you get your car inspected.

well i had a blown fuse on my air pump yesterday and i put a new one in there and it ran a little warmer than when the fuse was blown. i wonder if not circulating emissions makes it run cooler or the air more combustable?

and is the air pump belt driven or electric or what?
