Default 94 LT1 13's?

I have a 94 LT1 a4. I want to know how I can get into the 13.8 range or faster. Although, I really don't know where I am at right now. I ran all stock in the 1/8 with a nasty filter that had sand in it, lol. Also, the weather was very humid. It started to ran right after I ran. (that just tells you how crappy of a day it was) I ended up running on "street tires" a 9.2 @ 77. A met some other guy that has the same car at the track that night. (all stock as well) He was running 9.280 @ 76.8, a little slower than me. He ran his car in the quarter and got a 14.2 on street tires.

Since then, I descreened the MAF, got a CAI, underdrive pulleys (because my belt was old and worn), a hypertech thermostat and I have a flowmaster with no cat. Also, I have a set of drag radials now. I was just wondering, with what I have done. What else can I do to get myself in that 13.8 or faster range? I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, but I'm sure there is something I can do...Thanks a lot

I'm not looking for something extremely fast, yet. As of now, I would just like a daily driver that runs mid 13's or so. The car runs very well and I have to rely on it. I don't want to spray a 150 shot on it and hope it doesn't break...

A bone stock car with drag radials should be able to make it into 13.8s easily... you should already be there. I have seen quite a few factory stock LT1 f-bodies run 13.8-13.9 E/Ts.

American Thunder flowmasters caused me nothing but problems. I dropped almost a full second by installing a cutout at the back end of the straightpipe coming off of the Y pipe. For like 30 bucks you can have one shipped to your door from summit. You should run 13.8 easy, I did very easily. Best part, slap the cap back on with 3 wing nuts, and you sound stock again.

When I ran at the track (All stock) I didn't rev it up off the line at all. With the drag radials that I have now, should I rev it up, or just floor it? I heard it was better to not rev up your a-4 in these cars unless you have a stall. Anyone ever heard of that, or have any advice on how I should launch it with the mods I have.

Also, what should my next investment be? Anything you list, please try to give me an idea on the price. Lets go from least expensive please. If you feel like mentioning what else I can do after the basics, feel free. I know someone is going to say stall, if so, please give me a general idea how much, or where I should go. Thanks

You really need to get to know your car first of all. Go to the track and try different things like just hit it off the line, or rev it up and hit it. Always remember to go on the last yellow, don't wait on the green. Might want to think about some suspension mods, BMR lower control arms, perhaps a line lock to get the tires nice and hot, headers and a y-pipe would be the best money you spend, along with a small tune would help out alot. I would also get the cold air kit, SLP or Thunder Racing has those. The more air flow the better you car will run, headers and a cold air kit will really open her up, and also a cut out to by pass the muffler.

I did all this to my LT1 and it really helped out alot with my ET's. I was running 14's stock and after those mods I dropped to high 13's. You really have to get your launch down. Thats what really makes the difference in your ET's.

having someone tune the car to your mods using a program like LT1 Edit to change fuel & timing curves by using your stock pcm and reprograming it.. its better then the hypertech but not as good as a dyno tune check out www.madz28.com or www.pcmforless.com they do LT1 tuning i have both there tunes for each of my LT1's

it allows the programmer to do stuff like turn your fans on sooner ( keeps the engine temps down) adjust for different gears in the rear end, bigger tire size and different trans shift points, remove top speed limiter, remove rev limiter, delete Egr, delete cags, delete A.I.R, delete o2's, program for cams and stalls and ect..... it can go on from there depending on your needs check out the sites i listed and see what services they offer to help you understand.. i gained 13RWHP from ION @ madz28 and his power package i met up with him and in minutes i had a tune where i felt a real difference in how the car performs and with his fan temp adjustment my car doesnt run hotter than 180-190 on a 90 degree day. Im not sure about the RWHP gain from pcmforless but they have tuned my car for the cam and stall that I have. Speed INC does tunes also including dyno tunes.

So, when I go to madZ28.com which one should I get for my mods? I'm sure which is the best choice...I want to make sure I get the right thing. I don't see the page with mailorder tune for an Lt1. Maybe i'm just blind..

get the power tune.. i think it's $150 fill out the sheet of you mods send it to him and he will emial you details on how to send the pcm and turn around time, he will tune your car best for your mods.. also if you like you can have him adjust your fan temp on and off time differently mine are set on like this low @172 off @168 and the high speed on @178 off @ 172 and it usually keeps my temps around 180 of coarse he didn't recommend that for emission reasons but in MI no Emissions so i was able to do that.
