wow Its hard to believe that has so many miles on it, very clean. It looks cleaner than my car, which only has 47k miles on it. Thats one hell of a find!

Yeah, that even looks better than my Polo Green 95 Z28 w/ only 112,500 on it.

So, what are you waiting for then? Have you checked it out yet? Is the price fair?

Only way to know for sure though is in how it drives...If the motor is quiet, trans shifts nicely with a solid clutch, and it pulls hard when you get on it then I say go for it. Also check for any oil leaks and find out what exactly has been replaced over the years...

Again, very clean, nice looking 150k car,

Mike

144k on mine, ive only put about 5000 of those on, but i just took it out and ran it up to 110 a few times, didn't even get hot, no misses, nothing, stuck to the road like a dream. I have no idea of the maintanence on mine, so i would say go for it.

I just tore down my stock motor with 117k on it I beat on my car hard and till the opti went out never ever had a problem with it. The motor looked brand new inside. I say go for it.

If things go according to plan, should be purchasing the car soon.

I can't wait to get back into an LT1.

Mine had 170k+ when I bought it....

No regrets it had good power, didn't smoke, and got great gas mileage.

i can't, the whole point is that i'm getting booted off of my insurance and can't afford full coverage on my WRX so I've got to get just liability on an older car. So I need something that I can buy with cash.

$3000.

Deal is almost done. All I've gotta do is find a way to get the car from NY to here.

Sounds like you can't go too wrong for the $$$. It looks to be in good shape. If it's been maintained like you say, the high miles shouldn't be problem. Of course, you want to drive it to make it last and keep changing that oil. Maybe go to a 160 thermostat, if it doesn't have one.

My Impala (LT1) has 180k miles on it. I am starting to think about a rebuild, but mostly because I don't want to wait untill something goes bang. It's my daily driver and track car, too. I thrash to over 100 multiple times virtually every day. Replaced Opti, plugs, plug wires and water pump at 170k. Opti was fine, but since I was in there, good timing to R&R.

I would say, if you drive 15k miles per year, it will last you without a problem. You may have to replace maintenance items...like plugs, plug wires, water pump, or rebuild the Opti-spark, depending on when they have been done.

Most important, how does the rest of the driveline sound and feel? Is the trans working good? Is there any hesitation at high RPM? If not, you should be good to go!

If you were closer to me I'd try and sell you my car. It seems like you're wanting another car in a hurry though and I can't guarantee when I'll have mine in selling condition. It does only have 67xxx miles on it though and a new T56/clutch combo that has like 12000 miles on it. Oh well, hopefully I'll have it ready soon.

So, did you actually check out the car in person then? Drive it??

Just making sure because I wouldn't pay three grand for that car sight unseen (no matter how good it looks in those pics). If you have seen it, then disregard my wisdom...

Good luck and keep us posted...

Have not seen it or driven it, but I know the owner and he's a trustworthy guy. I have dealt with him in the past.

Well, I've always believed you should know exactly what you're getting when buying a used car (that's just me), but that sounds cool if you can trust the guy enough...

Congrats on being back in the LT1 crowd,

Mike

Oh I'll definitely check it out if I get up there to pick it up. It's not looking so sure now though, I don't know if I have a way to pick up the car and his schedule is a bit packed for the next few weeks, so it might not work out. I've got a couple of other cars I'm looking at now as well though.
