Anyone who has had this problem with their opti, did the code come and go? I'm replacing it regardless but I was just curious. Last few times I fired it up, it went off and had been present before.

seems like i remember having that one when my opti went out but it was not always there. since the new opti its gone.

It's going to be either the optical sensor/disk or the electrical connector. Either way when you replace the opti and clean or replace the connector you will be ok. Most times when I see this it turns out to be the optical sensor itself.

With the last few cars I worked on with that prob, it was the connection. Replace the opti and make sure when you plug it in that the pins are going in the plug right. Sometimes the pins go between the metal terminals and the plastic on the connector. It was actually causing these cars to die when they got warm.

I've already changed the opti and she revs like a champ now!!
