Default Looking for some opinions...

I have the chance to pick up my brothers 95 Formula A4 with t-tops for $5600. I didnt know if I would want an auto since I am a manually tranny guy, but after diving it a few days it is actually really fun. Dont know if all auto's had the performance button option but this one does. As far as mods it has a edelbrock catback (sounds really good), adjustable fuel pressure regulator, elbow, and a walborro 255lph pump. Car has t-tops and is black (my favorite clor for these cars),anyway I am curious if it is a good price. Also it has 99,389 miles and two minor rips in the leather interior. Included is a set of 3.73's to replace the current 2.73's which I bought as a b-day present last year for him, lol. Car has always been babied and will have a fresh tune up before purchase. Can the auto handle a 75 shot along with a 2900 (can I actually do a 3k without any problems?) stall, the gears some DR's, and in a little bit a cc306 cam along with LT's? What would I be looking at 1/4 mile times before and after cam....also I am a mile high so it will be about a second slower.

I am debating because I have a 95 T-Brd lowered on 18's with a built driveline (built tranny,2800 stall, aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 pumpkin) and heavy engine mods including nitrous. I dont know if I would sell my baby or I plan on a Cobra engine and use my n20....also have a t-45 5 speed tranny as well to swap in. I think I would do the engine swap and the tranny later on and have a very quick (currently around 375 at the flywheel) daily and use the formula as a weekend car/punisher.

....Opinions?

Get the LT1

Price seems alright for a car that was well maintained, and A4 cars can be just as fun with a high stall TC... okay, well not as fun but almost as fun as an M6.

LT's, ory, 3k stall (get a good one so the n20 doesn't make it go boom), shift kit, 3:73's would be a great start. IMHO...lt1's love the dope so go 100shot then up it to 150 shot. Just make it safe with a bottle warmer, safety window swtich, wet kit, etc. With that you should be 11.50-11.70s (buddys 97 vert ran 11.56 with minor suspension upgrades. With a cc306, or better yet gm847 (cheaper and more aggressive) you could be bottom 11.0s with some minor suspension upgrades (sfc's, lca's, springs, adj phr).

Didnt think the auto was quite that strong when it came to the liquid dope. Also is anyone running the JFuddle (I think) stall, before my hiatus (sp?) people were just starting to order them. Dont know if they are as high quality as they claimed. Pretty sure they were being sold on this site if not it was most likely cz28.com, but I tend to post/lurk here far more often.

the vert i was referring too just had a shift kit, stall, and a cooler...but he does have a dry kit with a progressive controller..150 shot. i wouldn't think the wet kit would tear through the tranny any worse than a dry shot.

More than likely due to expense I woudl swap over my current Dry kit that is pilled for a 125 shot, but I can always jet up or down. Also have a bottle heater, blanket, and a boost a pump to help things move smoothly.
