what my car should run
Stock gears? 3.23 Im guessin. With a tire or not? On the spray? Mid to low 12's I guess depends on alot of things like driver ect.. my roommate has a ls1 car putin down 380 plus to the wheels but can't driveat the track for crap. was going 13.3's at 112 or some crazy crap. 6spds are a bitch i guess.

I have 342's with 275 nittos, on the street it hooks good but for some reason my buddie beats me. he has a 93 z28 with shortie headers ypipe flowmasters, 2200 stall, k&n cold air, 373's, nittos, and a compucar nitrous kit with a 75 shot. we raced last might and on motor he beats me by 2 car lenghts and with both of us on a 75 shot we are neck and neck. I just dont understand how he is winning. any ideas?

with an auto and a stall he probably leaves the line a lot harder. Sounds like you have similar mods, with the exception of longtubes vs. mid lenghts. With your mods I would hope you would be low 12s traction permitting. Why not just take it to the track. With a real time slip you will get a much better idea of what kind of power you are making via mph, and such.

I'd say traction is your foe. Does he jump you off the line? BC if it's that then you aren't leaving hard enough, but you can't get too crazy bc of the stinkin 10 bolt. Once you invest in a rear end, get some suspension work,...5k drops and dead hooking should get you low low 12's maybe a high 11 depending on weight. Then you gotta watch your tranny...its a vicious circle...lol.

well see that is the thing i leave the line at 3000 and beat him every time but for some reason he pulls past me before i am out of first gear and it takes me untill the top of third gear to catch him. I hook up good with just a little tire spin. He jsut seams to have a lot more mid range then i do or somethin.
