Y pipe info
Y pipe info Ok, I've heard that the Pacesetter Y pipe sucks. For all of you who have Pacesetter longtube headers, what Y pipe did you purchase to fit on your exhaust system, other than Pacesetter. Or is this just a nasty rumor about the Pacesetter Y pipe?
I'm just looking for other company's Y pipes that would fit on the Pacesetter longtubes.

What issues have you heard about the Pacesetter? I went with their y-pipe, and this is what I would see as concerns that someone may have.
1. The driver side has a flat spot to fit under the body. This helps it tuck nice, but might have an impact on flow.
2. The flat spot mentioned above fits very closely to the body, which can cause some ratlling. This is taken car of with some creative spacer work.
3. Pacesetter does not offer ceramic coating of the y-pipe. That doesn't seem to make much sense, but you can get it coated elsewhere.
Personally, I am happy with how well mine tucked up close and fit well.

I have one also and thinks it a nice peice. Only thing that I can think of that is a problem is the drivers side does rattle against the body sometimes. And that you have a cut a little off you I pipe to make it fit.

You could always get a good muffler shop to make you a y-pipe as well.
Should I trust a muffler shop enough to make one that would work well?
