Default Moroso filter fitting problems?

I have a Moroso CAI and it doesn't seem to fit right. It seems like the holes don't match up or something. Anyway, I have a K@n filter on my car right now. (Not CAI) If I end up fitting this moroso CAI on my car, will it really make a difference? Also, have any of you had this fitting problem? Oh and one more thing, does anyone know where I can get a new filter for the moroso. I got this from a friend of mine and it looks kind of dirty. I know you can clean them, but I would rather buy another filter. Can anyone help me out?

P.S. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to my car next. Something not to expensive, but helpful. I'm off tomorrow and I was thinking about getting that CAI on and buying something else. Anyone have any ideas? I currently have underdrive pulleys, the moroso, 160' thermostat, exhaust with no cat and descreened the maf. Thanks for the help.

-Jay

I had the K&N filter on my car before the Moroso. I definately felt a difference.

What do you mean when you say that " ...the holes don't match up...?" Are you talking about the metal bracket that you drill holes for? If that's the case, just remove the part you need to drill holes for and drill them. I just skipped the bracket and connected the air filter directly to the plastic tube. I've had no problems.

As far as getting a new filter, I wouldn't know where to get one unless you purchase a new CIA system. Just get the K&N filter cleaner kit and it will work as good as new.

As for next upgrades do suspension stuff. They are not that expensive and relatively easy to install.

I have that same CAI. The only fit issue I had was the big K&N filter trying to squeeze into the hole by the fender.

I think it is definately worth it. Stock airbox has got all kinds of baffles in there.
I noticed a nice SOTP gain when I put mine on. As far as fitment, mine was cake.
You say you got it used, so maybe there is a piece missing. It's been a while since I
put it on but there is the intake tube, 2 rubber couplers, the metal plate that attaches
to the body, a few bolts/nuts, clamps, and the filter. I had the k&n kit before, and the moroso is much easier to work with. Just be patient and line everything up. I think I put the filter on the plate first, followed by the tube up top.

You could plug the elbow in the tube to the t/b and make a cold air scoop under the
moroso pretty quick and cheap.

I got the moroso CAI put on today and there was a difference. I was pretty shocked when I noticed the car was faster. Just out of curiousity, which is better the moroso or K@n? Thanks

Performance wise, they are probably equal. My K&N system filter liked to fall off the plastic tube though. And the tube deformed at the maf as well. 2+ years with the moroso and it has been ok.
