If he has a dyno sheet, look at the a/f ratio and see what it is. 30# injectors on a blown 383 is SMALL. They need to be ATLEAST 42# or higher. I would bet if you dynoed it and looked at the duty cycle of the injectors it would be high.
FYI: LT1's dont sound different from the LS1 because it's an iron block, the LT1 firing order is totally different the LS1 firing order which is what gives the motor a specific sound. If you have an LS1 aluminum motor and an LS1 iron block then yes there will be a small difference in sound. But the firing order is the main reason for the difference in sound.
