John.....my best pass last year with the old set-up was the 9.85 @ 141. That was with the direct port LT4 intake (250 shot) and a hydraulic cam. I have chosen to go with a plate system so I can race in some classes around Texas that do not allow direct port kits. New times soon on the new setup!!

Carbed.........Moe Bailey now tunes my car. In the past I have always tuned my cars but I have turned it over to Moe. He does an outstanding job. I still on occasion tune friends cars when needed.

Sweet. your new setup looks stout. I think Stefan D. is the fastest stock pcm LT1, I believe he's been down around 9.40 or so.

You can only tune up to around 7000 rpms. All of the perameters from there up stay the same and cannot be changed. Basically......the timing, etc will be the same from 7000 to 8000 rpms with what ever it is set at the 7000 mark.

So basically your just hoping and praying above 7000 that nothing else is needed?

Pretty much so.......the good thing is that it will be on the down side of the torque curve which means should not have any detonation. Usually detonation occurs on the upside and at the peek of the torque curve. My torque curve should be around 5500 rpms. After the hp peek....you dont need as much fuel.......so in that respect......the fuel perameters at 7000 will be fine to 8000. Guess we will see.

Hey Tony I just sent you a email with some questions about your intake setup, But I have a few other questions, I am usually over at camaroZ28.com and guys are doing this setup and making an additional 50 HP & TQ increase over the ported lt4 manifolds. Is the Victor E manifold the Super VIC, of the Victor JR intake. I have heard the Super vic is better, Also I want this to fit under my stock hood so I believe I need a 90 degree elbow that needs to be cut down some (milled at the base)

Yes the Victor "E" is the Super Vic with the injector bungs. It will fit under an SS hood or a cowl inducted hood. Will not fit under stock hood. I will check my email tonight and give ya some more info.

Tony, I'll be very suprised if you get it to run past 7280/7300. I shift mine at 7240/7250, and that is as high as I (or anybody else I know) have been able to get one to go consistently with the stock PCM. The injectors shut down right there. Has nothing to do with how far the tables go, either. I shuffled stuff around in one file to make room for 10,000 rpm tables, still only ran to about 7300. Sounds just like the rev limiter when it gets there. I have a good friend that is a retired "calibrator" from the Chevy division of GM. He Mentioned he thought it was maybe "against the clock". He did some math, and decided it should go somewhat past 8000. He had no other ideas about it. I still poke around, looking at things when I have time. If I don't find it this year, I'll probably go to F.A.S.T. system. Looking more like that is what it will take. Hate not having the engine & trans run by the same box. Just more crap to clutter the car up.

Good lookin setup, Ed

Hey tony I have a 96 Ta with a LS1 front clip WS6 setup. I think there is more room then a standard LT1 setup, But I can't fully remember. There are guys running the 90-100 degree elbows and are getting them milled about 1 inch and are fitting perfet under stock hoods, IF I can find the thread I will post it. Also Tony you said you are running a PTE 100 degree elbow what brand is that and where did you get it. Wilson only goes to a 60-90 degree elbow, I believe the 100 degree is best for using non aftermarket hoods, but I don't know for sure. Hey Mr. Wright I live in Northeast Arkansas and I plan on getting my 396 single plain setup dyno tuned from you guys I think ya are about 4-5 hours from my house, but you guys are the best, BTW what do you'll charge for tuning?? Thanks fellows sorry for so many questions.

Thanks Ed for the info...........Moe Bailey and I will be trying to get past that 7300 rpm mark. If not I guess FAST will have to work. What about a DFI kit? Will that work?

T/A kid........... It may be possible to fit under a stock hood with major milling of the elbow. Port Pros machined off .750 of mine to help with clearance but I am also using a NX plate system between the elbow and intake. You can get the 100 degree elbow from Race Proven Motors. http://www.raceprovenmotors.com/cart...hp?cPath=27_68

Hey thanks, well some guys are getting them to fit under the stock or (slightly modified hoods) so yea I think the plate setup of course is making it taller, I too am wanting to use Nitrous is a plate system the only way to go. IS it me or is it the 100 degree elbow easier for the setup to fit under the hood over the 90 elbow?? Thanks

You can go with a fogger or direct port kit as well. Definately go with the 100 degree elbow. You will need it.

Yea I believe we will go with a 100 elbow (which one did you get the forward one I persume, b/c theres 2 of them on the website). Like said before I will get it milled for more clearence. Is there a reason you went with the Accufab 90mm over Say the Wilson 90mm. From a appearence persective does the Super Vic look different than the JR version IS one taller than the other.
