The car is the Trans am the 96 with the LS1 Ws6 Front clip. Its a OEM style Ws6 hood (looks identical to the build of my buddy's 01 WS6. This is what I am thinking, for better fitment I am going to probably use solid motor mounts and drop the motor about half and inch or so, (may not be needed) The ls1 Front end seems to sit up Higher (more room under the hood) and I have a K-member which the front end moved up about an half and inch (I suppose becuase the lighter K-member let the cars front end come up from the ligher weight??). And of course there is a spot right in the motor of the hood that is near the cowl that comes down like 3 inchs or so, they can also be trimmed to be Flush with the rest of the inner hood.
As for the elbow I think for our setup we should mill it as much as possible at leats 3/4 probably more and Bret Bauer who is doing my intake Fabrication is going to mill some off the Top as well for added clearence.

Thats just my take on it. BTW I am sending my 195 AFR's to Lloyd this week should flow in the 290-300 range with the 2.05 intake valve.
Should dyno around 500RWHP with the ole 396 setup with a Mild cam. Brets' doing a 396 right now with a ported Super VIC a 300 CFM head in a A4 with 3:23's with a mild cam 23X/23X cam that he said will make 500+Rwhp.

Also something to note is that a Ported Super Vic flows so well you will see only about a 5-10 CFM loss on a 300CFM head. Sad thing for the LS1 boys that a 90/90 fast setup paired with a 300CFM 205 Afr head only see about 265 CFM air when bolt-on. I will see in the upper 280 lower 290 range.
LSWhat, lol

Actually it's not a Super Vic for EFI, it's patterned after a intake they had for Super Stock type intakes. Sit down with both intakes in front of you and you can clearly see this. Basically it's really heavy and needs a good amount of porting to match a Super Vic.

BTW Joe Sherman only made 604hp on a Super Vic and 215RR with a 234/234 cam on a 365 cube motor.

A Elbow setup with some trimming and a Super Vic intake will fit under a stock hood.

I've done a ton of these things, and I think a Super Vic converted to EFI and changed over to a LT1 bolt pattern is a much better way to go than a Vic E.

All the plug ins for the intake make it fun.... vacuum lines, MAP sensors, PCV setups etc...

I like the throttle cable braket that Chris made for his... Also like the cruise control setup with this as well.

Well i got my flow #'s on my Dart heads. Allitle over 320 at .600 and about 328 at .700
Are you having you super vic ported? I was told that it flows well enough out the box. Just need it matched.
Did you do the front end conversion yourself?

Bret

I am going off what Edlebrock told me. They said it is roughly the same intake as the Super but with the injector provisions and also said you have to take quite a bit of material out to match the Super out of the box. So....with a little work........it is comparable to the Super and you do not even have to worry about drilling and welding injector bungs. I think the "E" is better bang for the buck. Either one is a great intake!!

asudecat your going to have some Stout Heads on that motor of yours, should make nasty Power
As far as the intake Bret told me that the porting only really consists of working in the pleanum and then port matching the runners to the heads and blending everything in together. So it shouldn't have to have a Ton of work.

The Front End conversion was done by my oldest brother and his Friend (me helping a little, lol) He is a Professional body man and works at a Dealership doing this stuff all the time. I had the whole car painted at a Body shop with down draft paint booths. They put a Very Slick paint job on the car, Everything lined up accordining, but my brother is so picky about lining of the body that it took Several days to get everthing lined properly FOR THERE STANDARDS. I just got a Scanner at my house, when I get time I will take some pics, ( I think you guys will like my LS1 induction and my custom setup on my Delteq) Sucks to be a college student 5 days out of the week, lol

Actually I delayed sending it out yet, Brett wants to do the intake blending when he has the heads, I have the money as of right now to get the whole setup complete but I have been real busy with school and other things. I will make a new thread showing off the setup when I get it done. I should Hopefully have it all completed within a Month. I am very close to getting everything sent off. I have everything setting in my shop ready to send.
Hows your setup coming alond man.

So many delays for me. WIth the hurricane down in Houston, it cause about a week delay or so. I should have it back surely in 2 weeks. I will get pics and whatnot. Right now were trying to get the paint and everything going.
I just finished with the front end conversion. The lines are way off. I'll have to work on that when I get some time. School is killing me.

asudecat take a look at these pics http://www.gcfba.net/cgi-bin/ikon/ik...;t=5475;st=0;&
My elbow will probably be milled about the same as this one, Bret said he could mill the top of the elbow as well from some added clearence so we will do that as well. This is a pick from atljar intake setup mine will look alot like this one but will have some goodies on it. Thats probably more than 3/4 though, but thats no big deal. Well I finally have the ball moving again, I am sending the Intake setup to Bret Friday and I am sending my AFR's to Llyod Friday. Should have everything back with 3 weeks probably. Will post some pics then.
