Centerforce Dual Friction issues
Centerforce Dual Friction issues My buddy has a 95 Firehawk 383 stroker. He put in the CenterFroce clutch and now his clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor to disengage or engage the clutch. Anyone have any idea? The motor aonly has 1000 miles on it and he just breoke in the clutch the way centerforce told him too . I drove it myself and it feels that when you pess the pedal you can still feel the clutch dragging, slight pressure. I was thinking maybe he needs an adjustable master cylinder but I'm not too familiar with his setup, i mena my car is on 02. IS his slave cylinder internal or external?

Sounds like maybe you didn't get the whole setup aligned properly (like that little arm that grabs the throwout bearing). But anyway, I have no clue about the setup or how to fix it. What I wanted to say is I just threw away my Centerforce clutch. It only had about 8 passes on it and 13,000 miles and it's shot. My dad looked at it and said it looked like stock would have done better than that. I should have bought a Spec or Mcleod! I am going auto now so it doesn't matter.
Well he got in my car and tried my Spec 3 and loved it! I told him to just get rid of it and buy a aSpec 3, but hes pissed cause he said the centerforce is brand new only has break in miles on it.

I am having similar issues on my '94 Z. I was told (by my mechanic and the parts guy at the speed shop) that the stock slave cyl does not have throw or oressure to fully disengage the clutch and advised to replace it with a "Centric slave cyl." I have the part in front of me, not yet installed but hopfully in a few days I'll report the results.
