Fastest BONE STOCK LT1...
Who has/had the fastest BONE STOCK LT1 F-body? It can be a M6 OR A4. But I'm talking bone stone stock, no DR's, no K&N, no muffler, nothing.
My '96 Z28 A4 2.73 "stripper" car went a best of 13.62 @ 102 w/ 2.0 60. This was on 245/50 Potenza's and stock down the factory paper filter. The car had 80k miles at the time.
So post up, and lets see if we can find who'd has/had the fastest BONE STOCK LT1

His gears are the stock 3.23 upgrade and although he didn't run a 13, he would have if he wasnt at a shitty elevation with shitty weather
Not to mention all of these other people who have seen stock 13s
Its hard to believe until you see it. Not every car is the same. He actually ran faster than my other friends 93 a4 with CAI, chip, 4.10s, and cat-back. He ran a 14.5
That time I posted was the "best". It was mid-fall and conditions were 110% good. I backed that ET up with a string of 13.7's @ 101 hotlapping the car. But I ran my fair share of 13.9-14.1's.
The BIGGEST thing with LT1's is keeping them cool. It didn't take me long to figure this out. They start getting heat soaked and slow down considerably. EX- I ran the same car at Super Chevy earlier in the year on a day with outside temps around the high 90's, a track temp of like 120+, humidity up around 80%, and stitting in the staging lanes for about an hour cutting my car on and off to move up every few seconds. Go the tree and my temp. gauge was reading 230ish. That combined with the conditions, I couln't get out of the 14.5's that day. Same car, nothing done to it.
Once I learned to keep the car cool and had some better conditions, I got a much better ET. I would never run the car unless it had cooled down well below 160. I tried to plan it so that I was reading about 160 when at the tree. After I learned the car I was always in the mid-high 13's, depending on conditions.
Every time I'm at the track and I see some young kid sitting in a LT1 car in the staging lanes with the car running and the a/c and radio going, I think back to all of the threads online I've seen entitled, "Why is my LT1 so slow?"
