LT4 crank questions and pricing
Well, I'm hauling my car off to the shop this weekend. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be replacing my crankshaft. A couple of my friends told me that I should just go ahead and put the LT4 stroker crank in my car.
My questions are as follows:
How much is a LT4 crankshaft kit and all necessary pieces going to cost?
How much would the average shop charge in labor to put this baby in?
-I have around $2,500 to spend on this. . .could I make this happen?

LT4 stroker crank????????????????????? Sounds like you need to spend more time looking here and less listening to your friends. The LT4 crank is the same stroke as the LT1 crank and if you think you need something stronger than the LT1 crank then you need to go aftermarket forged. The stock crank is a very tough piece it is probably the strongest part of the rotaing assembly and I have seen numbers over 600hp and TQ at the wheels with it and even stock rods.
If you need a new crank due to a parts failure then depending on your furture plans do aftermarket or a used LT1 crank, if the latter take the leftover dough and put it in the topend.
