Default lt1 making noise

my friends has a 97 lt1 trans am with the 6 speed. he has slp clutch, slp intake, and texas speed and performance exhaust. it has 80k miles on it and runs great. well when idleing you can hear a slight tick coming from the engine. is this normal with lt1s or is it something like the valve train making noise or is it something in the bottom end. he changes the oil regularly and it runs very well and is still a clean and smooth running motor. what could we do to fix this or is it time for a rebuild.

Is it coming from the top of the motor?? If so it could be an exhaust leak, rocker arm, lifter or an injector. My stock injectors are loud.

Also, with the SLP's metal intake, it could be the valvetrain resonating through the CAI...

I would say try adjusting the rockers....My friend did this several times and it usually fixed the noise. Just a guess though
