The TWS Engine Swap Thread
Saturday Tony and I took the car back to the dyno and were
at the numbers we achieved. It put down great numbers in any case, but those numbers are fantastic considering it was through the Billingsley extreme steel driveshaft, Strange 12 bolt rear, and on heavy stock salad shooter rear wheels. My lug nuts for my Convo Pros are not threaded deep enough for the long studs on the Strange rear, so we had to dyno with street tires and stock wheels.
If I had dynoed with my carbon fiber DS, OEM 10-bolt, and on lightweight Convo Pros, the numbers would have been Krazy!
Here are some pics from Saturday.
I still cant get over what that car put down!!
When are you going to the track Todd?
I can't thank you, Scott, Ouija (the "other Todd"), and Greg enough. Everyone has lent a hand wrenching, especially with you and Scott going above and beyond what I could expect from friends.
I have a few more steps to accomplish before the transformation is complete, and then I will unleash it at the track. After I get some timeslips (and perhaps a few doors have been blown off other cars) I will publish the dyno results.

Put it this way, your car acquited itself well. Nothing for you to be ashamed of.
It's actually putting more to the ground than it did that night we raced. We "discovered" more RWHP and TQ with the aid of a fuel pump that was actually able to feed the monster, as well as carefull tweaking of timing and fuel tables.

Put it this way, they are very solid numbers but probably wouldn't make the Guiness book of world records.
It's just that the motor is stronger than a few around here probably suspect and they are going to learn the hard way.

Naw, I hope you are not counting that as a race.
Regardless, if you would like a little action, feel free to BRING IT.

no I was not counting that as a "legit" race....but I thought you might like to run again with the new motor
would still like to see how I compare.Tony, you are welcome to come watch
With that 355 motor (firing on all 8 of course) the car would run nearly identical times to what you were running that night. So, if I hadn't had problems that evening, we would have had some good races.
Now, that I've stepped up to the new motor... all I can say is you better have done something more to your car if you want to hang.
