Default Cage is IN!

Well, Bill Buck just finished up with my 6 point cage. Still have a thrash ahead of me tonight (see the pics).

Will try to get the interior back in, a new window switch installed, get car cleaned up, etc. etc. etc. for the Shootout tomorrow.

When all is said and done, the cage itself with install will run me about $1300.

That's not including some significant (carpet) and other smaller misc. costs.

Default Thrash before Shootout

Just like many of those who participated, the night/days before the LS1tech shootout were one big thrash.

I was up til 1:00 am putting the interior back in, swapping out the defective window switch with a new one, and doing some misc. prep work.

As it turns out, I decided to run bracket, and didn't need or use the spray.

I sure will. Luckily for us Central Texans, the season pretty much doesn't end. The tracks are closed for a little while over the holiday season and that's it. Pretty much year-round racing!

I've got some tweaking still to do, and I'm am very determined to get a 10 sec. timeslip on the motor. After I get that, I will re-gap the plugs and make a few nitrous passes for grins.

uhhh, thanks Neil. I guess.

Yeah, the dash mat is a holdover from like 1996 when I used to daily drive the car and had to park it in the Texas sun at work all day long M-F.

I should ditch it for the massive 1# weight savings!

I don't think you should ditch it for the weight savings, just for reducing the strain it puts on our eyes.

It's cool. I was just playing back. Thanks for the props. I always say "it's not a real project car unless she threatens divorce at least twice"

The seats are OK. On long highway trips they become a bit annoying. I can't remember exactly what they weigh, as I put them in a long time ago. I do remember, however, that they saved 15 pounds each over stock seats. The main weight savings is in the brackets. Stock seats don't weigh much, it's the friggin brackets that seem to be made of lead.
