Default 1.6rr?

I heard getting some rr would be a good idea. I have a 94 Z28 A4, but I'm not sure what I should get. If I do decide to get them and figure out which ones, do you notice a difference in times at the track? A friend of mine got some and said it was a little quicker. I just like to get everyones opinion.

Sorry about so many threads. I try to do as much research as possibe before I buy anything. I don't want to make the mistake of getting the wrong thing. So far, everything has worked out great and you guys have helped me a lot. I just want to say thanks.

What they do is make your existing cam a little larger basicly. They also reduce friction to the valvtrain area. I think the power gains vary from what cam you have.

I just aquired some crane gold narrow body 1.6's thats what im going with.

I wouldnt expect crazy gains , but i dont think you could go wrong by getting them.

What else do you have so far?

All I have is a Moroso CAI, underdrive pulleys, 160' thermostat, exhaust with no cat, and the metal intake elbow.

So, do you think getting the 1.6's would help me, or not be worth it?

I have 1.6 Comp Pro Mags. It will require modifying the valve covers some, and it would be wise to get new valve springs as well. I think it's a worthwhile mod in the long run. I haven't got any real results yet, but thats because my best time was run in cool weather, and installed the RRs in the middle of summer...

I would say get some Long tube headers next. Then cam with rockers + springs later.

Agreed. Do you know where I can get a good deal on some, or know someone selling them?

Check out the forums for sale sections and ask around on what brands and all that jazz. I have SLP short tubes on mine and like them. But if i did it over i would have saved my cash for some long tubes, since i dont care about emmisions anymore. It is just preference on what your gonna want. I tried to get everybody to turn in their soundclips to me so i could create a website for LT1, but that is not going to happen It seems.

Stainless steel is the way to go if your gonna keep the car for a while.
Check Ebay as well , as people are always de modding their cars.
