Air Pump Header Bolt Falling out?
I have a stock exhaust '93 Z28.
The Driver's side air pump bolt that routes air from the air pump tubing into the exhaust manifold keeps on falling out. One time I almost lost part of it on the road!!!!
Its the metal part that screws into the exhaust manifold.
Sunday...I've tried tightening it like crazy....Fell out.
Monday..I've tried hitting the wrench with a hammer to make it tight....Fell out.
I've tried ATV Gasket Sealer (700 degrees max temp)....Fell out.
Now I've taken off the Gasket Sealer and put a couple drops of motor oil on it so it would screw in tighter then ran the engine to burn off the oil. That was today. I drove it for 30 minutes and it was tight...but what can I use to fix this w/o tightening the scalding hot bolt with a wrench everyday?
I've ordered a brand new bolt to just plug off the air pump on that side. Mabey that will work?
Thanks for reading this I know it was long.
