Default Dropping an LT1

Can somebody give me a good idea on how I can do this on a 95 trans am? My buddy wants to pull it out the top but I heard its alot easier pulling it out the bottom, any input is much appreciated.

Thanks Tom

I like pulling it out the top, pull the intake, leave the heads on. Pull it up till it gets stuck then surn it counter clockwise put the front of the crank towards the abs pack, should come right out then. The thing with pulling it out the bottom is it takes about the same time but you have all your accessories still on the motor.

Good luck , keep track of the bolts and where they go. Mines been down for a month now and all the bolts are starting to look the same, lol, not really

I pulled mine out the bottom Using a lift. It took about 3 hours by myself. Putting it back in was a pain though. One tip: leave the wiring harness on the engine and where it goes through the firewall, remove the passenger side kick pannel and the 3 plugs are real accessible.

there is a write up somewhere and also I had a thread going too.. you have to disconnect the brake lines at the abs module and the coolant hoses and wiring harness from inside car, torque arm, trans cross member, exhaust,, shifter inside car, probably a couple other things but thats the just of it
