Default LT4 Km necessary?

I am getting some coated long tube headers for my car and I was wondering if should get an Lt4 Km as well. What are the advantages of having one with headers? Also, what are the disadvantages of not having one with headers? I want to know if it's worth it. Also, If I decide to get one, where can I purchase it? My headers should arrive in about 5 days, so I would want to get all of it around the same time. Thanks

Yes it helps. Mine didn't run too well with headers and true duals til I put the LT4 KM back in. You can also desensitize the stock KM if you have tuning software.

So, where can I get it? Anywhere locally, or just online somewhere.

Alright, I will give them a call. How much is it? No more than about 50 bucks I would imagine, right?

Your positive that look up number knock module will fit a 94 Lt1, right? I'm just making sure. I just called chevy and they said it was 58 dollars out the door. I'm going to keep looking around, but I just want to make sure that will fit and be alright. The guy was saying that module showed for a 96 vette...

The 96 Vette had the LT4 KM. Which is why it is the LT*4*. The LT4 was less sensitive to false knock etc. because of the engines nosier valvetrain. That is the one you need. If you need it now, get it at the dealer, but I don't see an immediate need for it.

I would just rather go somewhere and get it. The dealer is right down the road. I don't really like to deal with mail...That's just me. Is it easy to install? Self explanatory, or is there a guide somewhere I should look at?

The installation is common sense, but here is a guide to help you out.

I'm not going to do any manual tuning, but after I get the headers, I was thinking about getting a tune? That would be ok if I get the KM, right?

It says for a 96-97. Are you sure it's the same for a 94?

Yup. I'm pretty sure. The only time where it wouldn't work is with a 1993 I believe. I don't know much about pre 96, but it should work.
