Good luck man keep us updated.
The thing is, I know this guy. He dated my g/f's mom for about 6 months. I would see him kind of a lot. He has always been kind of weird though, hence why my g/f's mom broke up with him. Although, he has always done good work.

Update! I called the shop today and someone picked up. I noticed right away that it was the mechanics son. (I've met him through dinners, etc...) Anyway, I asked him if his dad was there. He replies, "no." Then I asked, "well do you know if the white camaro is finished yet?" He said, "no it's not finished." I said, "do you know when it's going to be done, or when he is going to be working on it?" He said, "well we are closed saturday and sundays." I told him that his dad said the gaskets didn't fit and he said he was aware of that. Then I told him I went out and got new ones and left them at his dads house. He said that he didn't know about that part and his dad wasn't there. So, basically this means the mechanic wasn't working on my car at all yesterday, after I dropped the gaskets off at his house. He just took these two days off without deliberatly telling me, which would make me assume that he was working on it. He told me he would have it done once I gave him the gaskets. He implied that he would go right into work and do it, since I was supposed to have my car friday...So, now I have to wait until monday to get my car. Well, at least I have more of a reason to not pay him any more than what we talked about. I won't feel bad at all, if he says it should be more expensive. Because this is bullshit, especially not calling me back. Do you guys agree?

GOD DAMN RIGHT i agree, slap that bitch in the face! He is a liscensed mechanic and he is taking so long to put headers in?????????????????? Thats a huge load of b/s. I bet you the guy is going to ask you for more money. I honestly think he will, IMO this is lame, you pay someone to help you, even if it may be a friend mechanic, buisness is buisness he needs to stick to the deal and the deadline. And i bet if you werent his friend he would not be doing this, he thinks your buddies so hes taking advantage of your so called friendship to be lazy.

I went to this dealer to get my tires put on and there was no one in the docks with no cars on the lifts and they were like yeah we are booked all day we can get it later, 5 hours later to put tires on a car, they charged me for 5 hours of labor. I refused to pay them for 5 hours of labor on a tire change.

Update!

Well, the mechanic just called me. Apparently went out of town for the weekend. This whole thing was a misunderstanding. He called me yesterday to let me know that I needed different gaskets for the car. His plans were to get it all done on monday since they were closed on saturday and sunday. He didn't have his phone with him this weekend and just checked his messages. He was shocked that I said I was dissapointed in him on his message. He said he was working his butt off on my car. He wantd to do it right. So, basically he has actually on worked on my car for one whole day and little problems came up. Once of the issues was the Y-pipe. I guess my poly tranny mount is too big to fit in with the pipes there. So, he had to order the stock one to fit it in right, so it wouldn't bang. I asked him, when all of it is installed, if I could still fit my poly tranny mount on. He said it would be doubtful. Any else have a problem like this? Those stock mounts suck, I want the good one...Any advice?

Absolutly not. I run pacesetter LT's with pacesetters y pipe with no problems at all with running my poly mount.

If you ever look under your car when he gets done you'll see it doesnt interfer what so ever.

well it seems that the communication is the problem here. anyway if he's talking about the part the bolts on the back of the tranny tailshaft that holds the stock pipe up and is used to hold the aftermarket y-pipe you don't need it hooked up. Mine wouldn't fit either so i just left it and i have no problems with clearance and the pipe hiting anything you dont need to replace the tranny mount it should be fine.

That is probably what he is talking about. He is going to let me take a look under the car. I really want my poly mount back on. I'm sure all of you know as well that the stock tranny mounts SUCK!

Well, I got my car back. The mechanic did an awesome job and my car sounds mean. It has a pretty deep sound and I am very impressed with the difference. I thought I wouldn't really notice much, but it was pretty damn noticable to be honest with you. I also put the LT4 KM in today as well. I haven't driven the car yet since I put that on, although I won't notice anything with that. I have good tred 275 tires on the back of my car and I was lighting those up. I floored the car from 35mph and it went completely side ways. It was nice and you could feel it keep pulling. It was a good feeling. The mechanic kept his word and charged me 250 for labor. (not including the 20 dollar gaskets I bought) The mechanic told me to come in on thursday to get all of my bolts tightned again. He wants to make sure everything is done right. Also, he was able to fit my poly tranny mount back on. So, I was happy about that.

Just out of curiosity, how much does the LT4 KM help my car after getting headers and will I feel a difference? Would I see a hp difference on the dyno? Anything? Thanks.

-Jay

You'll notice a loss in low end torque, but if you race a 1/4 mile you will tell a HELL of a difference. Mid range is just sweet! Some see between 20 maybe even 30 RWHP depending on how it responded.

Umm..The LT4 KM is not fuel related at all. It detects knock in your engine. It is a lot less sensitive than the LT1 KM because the LT4 has noisy valvetrain that would cause knock on the LT1 KM...How did he feel better power from a Knock Module...?

Wow, I can't wait to drive my car tomorrow lol. So far I have a CAI, descreened MAF, underdrive pulleys, metal intake elbow, flowmaster, pacesetter Lt's with the matching Y-pipe and an LT4 KM. What should I do next? A tune?

You should get a cutout, depending on how restrictive your cat back is, you'll get about 10 HP. You have a what, 94? Get a tune from Ion at Madz28.com and get your shift firmness like 70% more, and run on premium, the tune is good for about 13 RWHP maybe even more. It's gonna feel like a new car, just gun and and watch the tires spin

There is some guy my friend told me about that gave him 18rwhp out of an LT1 tune. He is pretty local, so I may go see him. How much power do you think I have right now?

Considering you have almost full bolt ons, I would say between 280-293 RWHP WITH the tune.

What else do I need to get to have "full bolt ons?"
