Unhappy Exhaust 94 Z A4

i wanted to know if i could run long tube headers a y pipe no cats and just straight pipe back. i will also have a muffler eliminator on. the muffler shop here said i can't do it. and with no cats it will just have my computer crazy and my check engine light will be on all the time. can i t be done with out computer going bad and how do i do it. thanks

I have a 94 Z with no cat (straight pipe) with no mods and runs great! No check eng. light or anything...

Yeah, there are no post cat o2 sensors on OBDI car (93-95), so it wont throw a code because of that.

Im running a straight pipe to a cutout, no cats, no codes.

thanks alot i don't know what my muffler place is talking about. because i just got some pacesetter long tubes with the egr stuff and a pacesetter y pipe then im going to run straight pipe back to a muffler eliminator and hopefully its sounds real good. anyone have a setup like that

The muffler place probably thinks that your car is like an LS1 car where there are O2's before and after the cats. Your car only has them before the cat, in which it doesn't matter if you remove the cat.
