another rocker arm question need help
another rocker arm question need help last night i adjusted my stock rockers by doing the whole tdc meathod with the car off.i did everything in order... i even did it twice just to make sure everything was correct...i put everything back together and cranked the car and it idles rough and feels like its gonna shut off, but at wot it runs like a champ...it sounds like ive got a vacuum leak somewhere...any suggestions as why the car would be running like this...im about to go get some 1.6 rr and just replace everything but i would like to atleast get my car driveable first thanks

dont do it twice, sometimes after adjusting, the pressure on teh lifter from the pushrod causes it to bleed off and then you think that it needs to be adjusted again when it really doesnt. When this happens, the valves are adjusted too tight and the car doesnt like to idle very well. TLet the car run for a minute, then take the valve covers off and redo your lash but dont go over it twice, just once. when you start it up, you will hear clacking mos tlikely but its just the lifters pumping up if they have been overtightened. If you dont feel like doing it again, you can take the valve covers off and adjust the valves while the motor is running. Dont do a 3/4 turn as GM suggests, 1/4 turn is fine, 3/4 is too tight, set with zero turn if you want.
