Default fuel economy mods

which headers do you recommend? and which programmer to change octane to 87?

All LTs are good cuz there better flowing, and i dont think there is a programer for an LT1 that you can change to 87 octane........why did you get a V8 if gas is in mind?

my friends 9c1 caprice runs in the high 14's with 87 octane, no mods, so that made me start thinking

a good fuel economy mod is a Honda. Go find one for cheap.

i for one am with you on wanting some gas mods! Have you seen the price of gas? And if a v8 is your daily driver how can you not be concerned about it? oh and F George Bush

Wow your A DAMN HIPPIE!!!!!!!!!! Deal with gas in your "muscle car"! Stay out of WOT and its not that bad i can get 7days on a tank. Thats damn well good enough for me, if you cant handle it get a beater.

I see that your name says 96? So do you have a 96? If so what MPG are you getting, cuz me and all my Fbody buddies get 14-16.

kooks lts here and loving them. easy install and nothing beats stainless. best way to save gas is tire pressure and easy accelleration. i got 16.6 mpg a couple weeks ago babying it and realized it was no fun. good luck

yeah i have a 96 z28 and get about 14 miles per gallon... thats not so hot. its pretty much the norm for this car but its still pretty rough on the wallet.

And I'm not a hippie....I just hate the goverment!

So in a sense your a hippe......:fluffly: I dont get good MPG either im prob geting what you have and i also have somewhat fuel economy mods.

ud pulley helped , elec water pump, intake, and ur standard boltons all increase the effiecency of the engine u already have.

nobody mentioned weight reduction?... hehe... Or, go LS1, they tend to get better milage off the bat.

I get 13-16 around town depending on how I drive. Highway is like 20-24 depending on if I'm using the cruise control or not.

I'm not thrilled with the gas thing but, unles you've got a M6 and baby it all over, you're not going to see great gas milage.
