Question Anyone with the setup?

I'm looking at getting this setup for the future. PaceSetter Coated Longtubes LT1 w/EGR/AIR with the Pacesetter Off Road Y-Pipe. Then a borla cat-back. Does anyone have the same thing or advice about it?? Will it all line up correctly(fit)?? Much appreciated

Why keep the AIR and EGR if emissions arent a problem in your area? I got rid of my AIR and EGR because it cleared up so much room. Just my $.02. Should sound good though.

The emmisions are a problem here. Do the AIR and EGR make a difference. I guess I might as well not get them, since I probably won't pass emmisions anyways. I'll just get someone I know to pass me. And how come their is a $135 difference for the Borla exhaust if I get it from Speed Engineering rather than Summit
Just Competition?

I got the same headers and y-pipe for my 95 Formula, but with a MagnaFlow catback. If you have emmisions sniffer test, you won't pass without a cat anyway. I would go without the AIR and EGR hookups, if I had to do it again. Getting those fittings to hook up was the worst part of the install for me, particularly the EGR. You could use pcmforless to help to tune after the install and to turn off any codes that might show up after disconnecting the AIR and EGR.

I don't know if the Borla system will be the same, but I had to cut off about 3" of the Pacesetter y-pipe to get the catback to fit perfectly.

Would I have to go to the PCMforless shop? Where are they? So unless I get a y-pipe with the cats welded into it already, this setup (headers,y-pipe,borla exhaust) will eliminate my stock cat? I need my cat!

If you just have a sniffer test, you might be able to get by with having a catted y-pipe made up. Any long tubes would fail a visual inspection, since the cat would not be in the stock location. Sounds like you might want to consider mid length headers.

Check out pcmforless.com. I would recommend the option from Bryan where you can get unlimited email updates as you make more mods.

I'm kind of a newbie. So do the mid length headers keep my cat? The kits come with the y-pipe, and it looks like it bolts up infront of the cat, then I have to weld the front of the cat at the end of the y-pipe. That right? But whats the deal with shorties, Will I not get as much power from them as I would with longtubes? Isn't their anyway to keep my cat using longtubes?????

Since LT headers end behind where your single cat currently sits, any y-pipe would be relocating the cat from it's stock location. This is technically illegal in all 50 states. You can have a y-pipe made with cats for any headers, but ground clearance can be a challenge with LTs. You might be able to get a single cat back near the stock location with mid-length or shorty headers.

Ok, so if I get shorty or mid-length headers with the included y-pipe, it will only relocate my cat from stock location? Will it just move it down a little towards the rear? That doesn't seem like a big deal if true, even if it is illegal. I definitely need to educate my self more before buying some. Please keep my updated, thanks

Is the ground clearance a big problem with LT's? I don't plan on lowering my car, so how bad can it be? Do they hit speed bumps or something?

My 95 Formula is not lowered, and I have no clearance issues with my Pacesetters. Pacesetters' y-pipe has a flattened notch on the driver side to help them tuck up tight. Depending on what you get for cats, you might not get such a tight fit.

Ok good, so clearance isn't a problem. But I want to keep a CAT on my car, would I need to buy the whole settup (headers,y-pipe,exhaust) and take it to a shop for them to cut out or weld in the cat?
