Power through Stock ported Intake
Mindgames intake had extensive work done to it, have you ever seen his intake, it doesn't even resemble and LT4 intake. Also, chuck Reddick (AKA Mr. Horspower) wanted him to use a converted Super Vic instead for MORE power gains but they ended up using the stocker. but 560+RWHP is alot and he used 15 degree heads if I am not mistaken.
Chopstix you didn't make that N/A I am not talking FI or with Nitrous.
Pleunum Volume and Runner length hurt the Lt1 as far as Tq and midrange and upper RPM power. A converted Super Vic is the way to go about it, and there is room to build on. 500+RWHP as been done with a 355 with Lt1 heads and a cam with a Single plain, not going to happen with the LTX intakes unless they have extensive work like say Ed wrights, Mindgames, Squinns, etc.
Look at the fastest LT1's out there they run Single plains.

My intake manifold is basically stock. I filed the ports going to the heads by hand, only removed maybe .030" stock. I also opened up the TB ports to match my 58mm TB. The stock port size is roughly 52 or so. Mine is making over 500 at the motor, stock intake and Edelbrock LT1 heads, all motor, on 9.8 pistons.

94strokedz so your saying you made over 500RWHp I am not talking 500 at the Flywheel (thats easy in my opinion). What does your setup consist of, I am not going to say that it is not possible, but if your doing it then there is one hell of a big cam in that thing, with a stock intake and Edlebrock heads.
You care to elaborate of have dyno runs to back your statements.
Not trying to start anything, just trying to Learn,

IIRC isn't the port size on the intake for the TB 54mm??
Matt
T/A Kid, thats 500 at the motor. The heads are Edelbrock castings, and thats about all that is edelbrock. There is another grand of work into the castings, run off of a CC306 cam. It is a stroker motor, professionally built, each cylinder matched to each piston, 500 at the motor is VERY possible. 11.76 in the quarter on a 2200 stall and 3.23 gears backs this up. No sheets to show it, but 500 fwhp is easy like you said. Buffman, 52 was a guess, because all I know is it felt like I started from 22mm grinding the holes with a dremel. Your probably right, I didnt measure them, I just scribed my line and started grindin.
Nice, haven't seen those Edelbrock castings in person, what are the specs or the heads now, if you care to share. I am doing a similiar setup with my car regarding the small stall, little gear. 3000 stall and 3:23's will back my 396 single plain, Afr headed car. I still want to cut the fast 60 fts and yet get good gas mileage on the highway. Do you mind sharing what type of 60Ft's you cut with your setup, and your suspension setup. Thanks

yes you are correct he used the GM castings cut on 15* instead of the usual 18*. YES I have seen the intake
I also build a modified version of the LT1/4 intake here at our shop. Then again "My" 18* motor has a Hogans on it
hell some day I might even finish it

We will see real soon if the Modified intakes are any good
I have to Proto types about ready to run. One should be going on next week and the other the week after Honestly, I never really got any info on my heads. No flow sheets or prints. I've heard that if you leave the heads how they are shipped, that the gains are pretty minimal. About the 60 foots, mine are pretty sad. Best ever was a 1.72. The track I go to is in pretty rough shape. Put it this way, I hook pretty much perfect on stickies everywhere but their starting line, burns em pretty much all of first. I'm consistently 1.80 in the 60. My suspension is pretty much stock, with 115,000 miles on it. Just a panhard bar and no front swaybar. My next project is upgrading the suspension. Sounds like your gonna have a sweet setup. I almost wish I went with AFR, everybody gives me a hard time about my heads. Maybe some day I'll make the switch.
TwoFast4Lv very nice setup indeed
what are your full plans for that motor. I wish I would have went with some converted 18 deg heads now, but I am sure I will make anough power to make me happy for NOW
.
94strokedz I would look at the Trickflow heads, get the Bare setup for $850 and then get some port work done to them, should flow in the 295-300 range at .600 lift with a 2.05 intake valve in the hands of a good porter, that nows there stuff. LE or AI could make it happen. The chambers start out at 195 but could be increased to around 217 or so, after porting and you could get a mill job on the heads to make them work better for a N/A setup. There mostly intended for a FI setup from what I have heard.
