Default when is it time for fuel upgrade?

Im about to finish off the bolt ons. I will then want to finish off the msd system, (wires, cap, rotor), then should I go for the fuel system? or would it just not really matter yet, I dont have any internals yet or anything, but I kinda want to get everything ready for when I do. I was looking at the aeromotive system, (lines, f.p.r., pump, fittings, etc.) it is running for like 600-700 on thunderracing.com. Do I need to upgrade or just keep the stock stuff?

Its always good to update your fuel system.
As of right now, if all you have is bolt-ons, you really don't need it, but you might as well go ahead and uprage fuel pump/injectors/and reg.
I keeps the headache out of tuning the car for future mods.

An adjustable regulator is a BAD idea for anyone who has to ask about fuel system upgrades. Really on a anything but truely WILD car all you might ever need is a new pump better pump wiring and injectors themselves but unless the pump fails you won't need a single piece of that till you go inside the engine. The lines and rail are fine for all but the wildest setups.
On the MSD parts don't hold your breath on the cap and rotor, while some mailorder catalogs have been taking orders for a friggin YEAR I have only heard of one that made it into private hands, they are having issues in production.

Looking at your mods I would say programming as a larger TB without programming can hurt the tranny because you are now making more power at less throttle position, the tranny line pressures are scaled off of throttle position so they need to be tweaked to prevent exessive slippage. A stall converter like a 9.5" Edge/Yank/Vig and rearend gears/posi should be on your short list at this point.

ok, so my fuel system will be fine until the big mods come into play. and the cap and rotor, will not be anytime soon it seems. So I will need programming with the new t.b.? does anyone know a good place in the houston area for a reasonable price? I was planning on putting on the t.b. this weekend, along with the cat-back.

i was still unsure about gears, I dont want to lose too much gas mileage and havent looked into them too much yet. as for the stall converter i've been reading some about it and trying to understand the whole process. It seems I should get the converter to match rear end and my wheel size? so it is all kinda a package deal right? any help on picking a set up and understanding what the outcome will be would be much appreciated

FuddleRacing.com makes an awesome converter, espically for the price. They also have a FAQ on all the questions you have, such as what it does and what else to do with a converter etc. And if you have any questions they have great customer service and will help you out.

thanks, that helps out a lot, i understand it a lot better now. it seems that I could really get a lot more pull with a better converter. some even say a drop of .5 seconds.

also would an ls1 driveshaft be a nice upgrade? lighter and stronger?
