waterpump went first on my Z. then the tranny, then the opti. Have not had any engine problems yet. Have seen a few lt-1 that were starved of oil at high speeds that looked like someone threw a gernade in the oil pan.

the oil pick up is prone to falling out, which leads to no oil, which leads to spun bearings, which leads to new engine...

I had to fix intake manifold leak on my 97taws6. Its sold off now.
On my 96z have had to replace alternator, waterpump and passenger side window motor. I did replace things like tps and iac and other stuff but it was mostly for preventative maintenance and have done a lot of mods as you can see in the sig.
I plan on doing more maintenance and upgrade type stuff, have new racetronix fuel pump and harness to install in spring, new adjustable fuel reg think my stock one is acting up. Replacing opti maybe putting in delteq and will replace wires and plugs when install planned long tubes.
The lt1 seem pretty reliable.I am a bit worried about the auto trans,am installing zex wet kit also. I have bought window switch but expect to maybe have to buy upgraded trans in possibly near future. I think the intake leak is from the egr tube so close to the back of the intake.I recommend blocking egr if you don't have emissions testing. We don't so the egr will be coming off there.

Other than that the car seems good...have to replace my front rotors they are warped bad and my stock shocks seemed not so great at 60,000 miles but have installed new kyb agx.

I love my lt1 a lot,had a 96 ta and 97 ta ws6. I love my ls1 too.Both great engines.

Valve springs are junk on these motors
Power Steering pump
Intake leak (valve cover breather helps eliminate it)
