cam with 150,000 miles
i'm thinking about getting a 96 WS6 T/A with 150,000 miles on it. I would like to throw in a different cam but the miles worry me with out replacing the bearings.I don't want to pull the motor yet. I plan to fully rebuild the motor in a year or so. I put 2 different cams in one of my other cars(97 formula) the motor had 90,000 on it when I swapped the 1st cam in ran it for 8,000 miles then swapped it out for another and it the original bearings and has had no problems then we put a cam in my friends 120,000 mile T/A it hasn't had any problems. I know these motors can make it over 200,000 miles. So if I pull the cam and inspect the wear on the and appears even and good do you think I would be reasonably safe to leave the bearings for another year(8,000 to 10,000 mi) or should I replace them no matter what?because it will be a while before I have the money to do any thing other than cam and bolt on's to it.
