lt5?
also, is it worth converting to lt4? i've heard ported lt1 heads and a nice came for the same money will gain more power.

Yea, so is finding someone able to work on one.
The LT5 is one of the coolest looking engines of all time IMO.
Sorry man, im not calling your story BS, but I find that EXTREMELY hard to beleive...I think I can chime in on this considering I own a ZR1. The only way that could be possible is if the vette had some serious traction problems off the line (or didnt have the secondary set of fuel injectors turned on
). Even considering the tractions problems after about 50mph or so the vette would pull BIG TIME on the camaro. I have raced many cars with my vette, even full bolt-on ls1 f-bods arent a race (and they are NOT slow cars). The only lsx based cars somewhat comparable to a zr1 are the C5 ZO6's and the C6 coupes....and even then after about 80+ mph the LT5 engine will start to pull on them. I'm not going to even mention the new C6 ZO6 because that vehicle is on a whole different level
. The reason that these cars (ZR1's) do so poorely in the 1/4 mile is due to the lack of traction, and the fact that the car doesnt really come alive until it is just pasing the marks at the end of the track. The closest race I had was against an 04' porshe carrera (twin turbo, awd), and that race was basically dead even the entire way up until about 145mph when we stopped. By no means am I saying that the ZR1 is "un-beatable" because it isn't, just like any other high-performance car it has its strong points and weaks points.
