Hehehe, that's an inside joke. Shon had Russ drive his car and picked up a couple tenths. Maybe I can start some rumors about a "Tekpro" mod.

I have a stock one. but typically run with no belt.
But I really like the ASP pulley/balancer combo, that is the only one I would run if I was to run one.

We just put the Alt relocation bracket on there so we'll see if we still can trap 113-115+, if we can not, we might try an ASP pulley to see if that will help, cause eventually I will be running a LW battery.

I had the ASP pulleys at one point but considered them a complete waste of money since they were so heavy. Maybe March has some aluminum pulleys that would be better for those who plan to keep their accessories. For those without the best thing might be the ATI dampener (10% under) and a stock alternator pulley.

Did you have the ASP bal/pulley? or the piggy back style? My thought was that the piggy back style was adding weight.

We have tested the ASP bal/pulley set up compared to dropping the belt, no better ETs or MPH on a buddy's car with an ASP. And in my 94PPM car I did not see any better times with no belt when I ran the ASP set up. I decided not to run one for now b/c of the no belt we usually run...

And would agree, that an ATI or the like might be worth the coin.

Yes I did have the piggy back version. I did not run it for long.

I saw only very minimal gains going from the stock pulleys (& no accessories) to no belt at all. Maybe only a few hundredths of a second if that. And that was with an extremely weighty 200 amp alternator. I got a bright idea to leave the belt a bit loose so it slips on hard acceleration. I wouldn't recommend it but it was funny to see bits of rubber on the bracket like the pulley had been doing burnouts. LOL!

I'm not sure I like the light battery's either. I ran a dynabatt (13lbs) for a long time but since trying the Optima red top I noticed the voltage is much higher and the car seems to run better. It might be worth the extra 20lbs to leave it in.

I would highly recommend a cut-out and dyno tune with fuel pump upgrade. If you still have your accessories you could run no belt like many others do.

How much do you gain by removing the belt? I am hoping to get my POS in the 12.7 range this friday and I may pull the belt off for a run. Supposedly the stock hood is restrictive, so i am going to port out the baffles before friday. I am going to pull the passenger seat, pull air filter (5 hp gain on dyno) and run on skinnies as well. Hopefully that will allow me to get in the 108mph area.

Removing weight and weather is my best mods, other than the driver mod.

OK you should be good. I would have opted for an upgrade though. They had a recent article in one of the mags where they took an LT1 car and upgraded the fuel pump and the injectors and gained something like 15HP. They used the stock size injectors but an aftermarket brand. I don't remember which. The stock fuel pump is definitely not the greatest and the stock injectors have a bad habit of locking up if you bump up the fuel pressure. If you are looking to upgrade your fuel system I would make sure to cover all bases: The pump, injectors, and regulator. I wouldn't consider it a requirement for bolton configurations but it doesn't hurt. And it is a must if you are going for a record and trying to squeeze out another tenth or two. Also a must for heads, cam and other power mods. I went with 30# injectors, a Walbro 255LPH pump, and Aeromotive FPR mainly to be ready for future upgrades and it did put me over the top for the record quest. I'd like to see someone go deep in the 11's with just boltons and weight reduction because I know its possible.

I'm sure I could see some gains from the driver mod. Especially since I'm pushing 220#'s these days.

Congrats guys. Highh 11's is sick for a bolt on LT1. I need to get to the track. You leightweight bolt on guys are hardcore. I might be there someday. I'm just going for 12.48's right now. Just need to get to a prepped track and i'll be all set. Not bad for 3500lb 6spd untouched LT1

Well, if it werent for Carolina Dragway running only 1/8th mile last night, you woulda seen those .70's I believe.

Last night's 1/8th mile times:

1.592
7.471
91.3 mph

I friend of mine ran the car (he's 70 lbs lighter than me!) and cut a 1.53 60', but missed 4th gear and coasted to a 7.64/79 mph. Ugh, maybe next season!

Basically, these guys are running boltons like LTs, exhaust, TB, gears, upgraded clutch, CAI & and rockers. They are still using the stock heads and cam.
