There was never a 2nd gear start option on the T/A in that year that anyone is aware of. There WAS a perfomance button option that did what I listed.

You have an elecrtronic transmission and the PCM fully controls all shifts and take off gears.

I guess the rest is just fluff

Do some research on this topic. This board isnt here to tell you all the answers. Have you checked the vin? Just put into carfax.com, it will tell you what model it began its life as. And just to let you know, you are coming off like a huge butt (to me anyway). Chill out, look up this said button on google, and look around. Youd be amazed at the info you can find.

well i looked at the vin... 8th leter is a "P"... i basicly took apart the center console in the dealer lot and there was not any wires going to the button. And there was not any plugs or anything to GO to the button. So i dunno what is going on there.

There was a button of some sort in side the console... dont know what it did though.. and a little light (with wires going to it of course) just chilling in there also.

I'm well aware of it; I used to have an auto 95 TA I totaled in high school....it did indeed have a 2nd gear start button for driving in snow ect. Why somebody needs it or would attempt to drive a f-body in the snow IDK.

I vote for a swapped console. Especially if nothing is going to it.

7 years, wow...so its probably been bought, had 3 optis fail, sold, fixed, blown up with nitrous, put on stands for a forged 396 build...and is either still sitting there or sold for a downpayment on a Ls1 car.
