Just a quick question for you gearheads, Will an lt1 intake fit on the 96-98 truck l31 vortec engine? I know the engines and heads are the same x cept for aluminium and iron for heads.
Or does the entire ignition setup need to be swapped?
I want a better flowing intake, the options thus far are, marine (1k)and ram jet(?) intake's w mods to accept, or a vmax intake spacer 265$( claims are good but who knows if it helps or not...)
Any infor will be appreciated.
Thanks
Brian G

The vortec heads have raised runner, where as the LT1 intake does not. The bolt pattern is different, and the LT1 intake has no water passages in it. An LT4 intake would come closer to fitting because they have raised runners like the vortec heads, but you still would have to deal with the different bolt pattern and lack of coolant passages. I'm not saying it can't be done, because it can, but ot requires alot of work. If you want to know more, check out www.LT1intake.com hope this helps
BTW, holley has a stealth ram out now for vortec heads, this might be a better option...
