Hi guys, I just bought my second f-body. Its a '95 A4 Z w/ 74k. I felt like I had taken my t/a as far as I wanted to go with it, so I sold it and picked up this one. I am going to go deeper with the mods this time (all bolt-ons last time), and do the right ones this time, now that I have some experiecne with what NOT to do
. My question is, I am going to be sticking with the stock heads for a while, and I want the absoute best cam choice possible for the stocker heads. I was thinking CC304-306, or maybe even LT4 (I'd hate to go that way). My first choice was the 305, with the springs, 1.6RR's, and guideplates. Will I need hardened pushrods with the 305?
Ive heard its ok without, but insurance is always good. I am open to all advise, thanks in advance.

I always read the CC 224/230 was a good cam for stock heads. But if you plan on having heads done in the future, why not go ahead and get the bigger one? You'll still have max power with the stock heads (provided it isn't all wrong) but can make more when you port. I think the idea of hardened pushrods is for guideplates only. If you get the guideplates you'll most certainly want them. With the self aligning rockers, I believe I was told not to use them. I would get SA rockers with no plates and stock pushrods. Save a little $$ that way and no detriment to your setup.

I think I am going with the 305 or the crane 210/224. All I am going to need is the 1.6RR though right..?? No matter which one I choose?? The stock valvtrain can handle the 305? Thanks again guys
