belt screaming
belt screaming I just got the pulley kit installed but now if I turn on my ac compressor at all it screams so loud it is unbearable. I have been told the shop prolly put too big a belt on. any ideas? no quick fixes for this one? also my alt. isnt charging at the low rpms but im just going to set my idle up to around 800-900 rpms to counter the charge effect that should be ok right?
It is possible they put too big of a belt on. If the belt is too big, the tensioner pulley won't be able to put enough tension on the belt to hold on to it, like when you kick on the a/c compressor.
you can try spraying silicone on it to see if that takes it away. sounds like belt is too big or loose. that would help explain low charge due to the fact the alt pulley isnt being spun fast enough at idle. the screaming with the compressor could just be additional slippage.
